Meet Our Founder

Hi, I'm Robin, the founder of My Foundations Academy, a therapeutic learning center in North Dallas. As a pediatric occupational therapist with over 18 years of experience, I have dedicated my career to supporting children at various developmental levels in reaching their fullest potential through individualized, sensory-integrative, and play-based approaches.

Throughout my years working with children and families, I witnessed the profound impact that a nurturing, developmentally appropriate, and relationship-based learning environment can have on a child’s growth. This realization led me to create My Foundations Academy—a place where children can thrive functionally, socially, and emotionally in a setting that truly understands their unique needs.

At My Foundations, we embrace the DIR (Developmental, Individual-differences, Relationship-based) model, sensory integration principles, and conscious discipline techniques to create a warm and engaging learning space. By blending evidence-based strategies with a warm, supportive atmosphere, our goal is to foster a love for learning, emotional resilience, and self-confidence in every child, ensuring that each student builds a strong foundation for lifelong success.

I am a proud mom of two sweet and curious boys, Eli (7) and Andrew (5), who keep me on my toes and inspire me every day. When I’m not working on My Foundations, you’ll find me traveling to new places, experimenting with recipes in the kitchen, or soaking up the outdoors with my husband, Igor, and our boys.

I earned my bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s in occupational therapy from Texas Woman’s University, graduating in 2007. My passion for helping children thrive has shaped both my career and my approach to life. I believe in creating meaningful connections and bringing warmth and creativity into everything I do. I am so excited to bring this vision to life and to partner with families who believe in a holistic, child-centered approach to learning and growth.
